Norwegian film “Drømmer” wins Berlinale

In a landmark achievement for Norway’s film industry, the Norwegian film “Drømmer” (Dreams) won the Golden Bear award for Best Film at this year’s Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale). This victory marks the very first time a Norwegian film has taken home one of the world’s most renowned film prizes.

Director Dag Johan Haugerud and producers Yngve Sæther and Hege Hauff Hvattum celebrated their triumph on stage. During the award ceremony, Haugerud expressed his amazement:

“This was completely beyond what I had dreamed of,” said Haugerud on stage when he received the prize.

Producer Sæther also shared his heartfelt sentiment:

“It is overwhelming to stand here,” said Sæther.

“Drømmer” is the second installment in director Dag Johan Haugerud’s acclaimed trilogy (Sex Drømmer Kjærlighet).
