Historic Oslo-Copenhagen ferry route rebranded as Go Nordic Cruiseline

H

The historic ferry route connecting Copenhagen and Oslo has officially been rebranded as Go Nordic Cruiseline, marking a new era for one of Scandinavia’s most popular maritime routes. This rebranding highlights the route’s rich Nordic heritage, spanning over 150 years of history, and comes following its acquisition by Swedish passenger shipping company Gotlandsbolaget.

A stronger Nordic identity

Kim Heiberg, Executive Vice President for the route, emphasized the significance of the rebranding, stating:

“The name reflects our proud Nordic heritage and history. We have been sailing passengers between Copenhagen and Oslo for more than 150 years – creating memorable experiences at sea for both Scandinavian and international guests.

Gotlandsbolaget has focused on modernizing the brand identity, including a new name, logo, and color scheme, while also working on significant onboard upgrades to enhance passenger experiences. The new approach will put greater emphasis on Nordic entertainment and gastronomy, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in authentic Scandinavian culture during their journey. Additionally, the company aims to provide passengers with more time to explore the capitals of Denmark and Norway.

Upgraded fleet and enhanced experience

The ferry Nordic Pearl recently returned from dry dock, featuring a refreshed design with an aqua-green hull and red funnel, along with upgraded cabins and common areas. Following the winter ski season, in mid-March, the second ship on the route will undergo similar renovations and will be renamed Nordic Crown.

With over 700.000 passengers traveling the Copenhagen-Oslo route last year, the transition to Go Nordic Cruiseline is expected to attract even more interest from tourists, business travelers, and locals alike.

About Gotlandsbolaget

Founded in 1865, Gotlandsbolaget is Sweden’s oldest passenger shipping company. The company operates passenger and freight services, as well as cruises to and from destinations including Gotland, Nynäshamn, Oskarshamn, Oslo, Frederikshavn, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Mariehamn. Gotlandsbolaget is also actively investing in sustainable maritime solutions, innovative ship technology, and the development of eco-friendly travel destinations. In Gotland, the company owns hotels and properties, further expanding its tourism reach.

A new chapter for the Oslo-Copenhagen route

The launch of Go Nordic Cruiseline marks a new chapter in the Oslo-Copenhagen ferry route’s legacy. With an enhanced focus on quality travel experiences, the brand aims to offer passengers a seamless, Nordic-inspired journey between two of Scandinavia’s most vibrant cities. Whether for mini-cruises, road trips, or leisure vacations, Go Nordic Cruiseline is set to redefine the future of ferry travel in Northern Europe.
