The Øresund Bridge lights up for the Copenhagen Light Festival

Øresund Bridge

The Øresund Bridge is set to shine in spectacular fashion for the Copenhagen Light Festival, running from January 31 to February 23, 2025. This year’s illumination, titled “Lys Over Øresund,” celebrates the bridge’s 25th anniversary with a mesmerizing display of light and color.

As one of the most iconic structures in Scandinavia, the Øresund Bridge will feature a special lighting design that replicates the golden and blue hues of sunrise and sunset. The breathtaking transitions of colors will highlight the 203.5-meter-high pylons, mirroring the stunning reflections seen over the Øresund strait.

Øresund Bridge: more than architecture

Each evening during the festival, the four pylons of the bridge will be illuminated in a seamless color shift, inspired by the natural transition of light at dawn and dusk.

The lighting sequence lasts approximately seven minutes, followed by a full cycle of 25 minutes. After each cycle, the bridge will return to its standard white illumination for five minutes before the next sequence begins, running every half and full hour.

Visitors can witness this stunning display between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM throughout the festival period, making the Øresund Bridge on of the most interesting attractions of the Copenhagen Light Festival 2025.
